בוז'י הרצוג ושלי יחימוביץ' העלו תיקון לחוק תקופת הצינון (זהירות קובץ). ע"פ ההצעה תקופת הצינון תפחת משלוש שנים לשנה (12 חודשים).

נבירה קצרה באינטרנט העלתה כי מדובר ברמטכ"ל לשעבר גבי אשכנזי שאמור להנהיג את מפלגת העבודה בבחירות הקרובות. לא ממש ברור לי למה גבי אשכנזי יסכים להתחיל את דרכו הפוליטית במפלגת העבודה המתפוררת ועוד יותר לא ברור לי למה ששלי יחימוביץ' תפנה את מקומה בשבילו.  אם שלי יחימוביץ' חושבת שהיא לא יכולה להנהיג את מפלגת העבודה לתוצאה טובה בבחירות היא לא הייתה צריכה להתמודד בהן מלכתחילה.

דובי קננגיסר שאל בפוסט האחרון שלו כיצד ניתן להתמודד עם האסטרטגיה של "אם תרצו" המציבה אותם כידידי הציונות ומציגה את כל המתנגדים להם כאויב. רמז לתשובה ניתן לדעתי למצוא בתרגום הגרוע של שם הסרט A serious man לעברית (יהודי טוב).

היהודים (ולא רק היהודים) לא אוהבים שאומרים עליהם שהם רעים, להיפך. הם אולי יהיו מוכנים להודות שחלק מהמעשים שלהם פגעו במישהו, אבל גם זה כי "לא הייתה ברירה". אנחנו הרי לא מקיימים תעמולה, אלא הסברה, כאילו שהעולם פשוט לא הבין את המצב שלנו ואם רק נסביר לו הוא מיד יתרצה ויכריז עלינו כצדיקים גמורים.

הבעיה של השמאל היא לא שמציירים אותו כאויב, אלא, חוסר היכולת שלו לפרגן לילד, לתת מילה טובה. לדעתי המצב שונה ממה שדובי מתאר, השמאל לא יכול התדרדר למלחמה של השפלה, מכיוון שהוא כבר משתמש בכלי הביוש (Shaming) לעיתים תכופות מדיי ושוכח להשתמש בחיזוקים חיוביים גם כשמגיע.

הילד הוא טוב בבסיסו, אבל הלקאות חוזרות ונשנות (גם אם ההיגיון העומד בבסיסן הוא צודק) מרחיקות אותו מהגורם המנסה לחנך. ישראלים רבים אינם מאמינים כבר שיש בסיס ערכי אמיתי למשפט ההומניטארי הבינלאומי והם ממש לא מאמינים שיש דרך פעולה אפשרית שלא תזכה לגינוי. מדובר פה בצלקת פסיכולוגית שנצרבה במרבית העם וייקח זמן לשקם את האמון של העם בדבר האוניברסאליות של ערכיי זכויות האדם והמשפט ההומניטארי הבינלאומי.

הדרך להתמודד עם תדמית האויב היא לדעת לא להיות רק האויב ולדעת לבחור את הקרבות.

כאשר אני אומר "לדעת לא להיות רק האויב" אני מדבר על היכולת להתגאות בדברים שהם לכאורה מובנים מאליהם, לא רק להביע סלידה וגועל ממעשי המדינה אלא לדעת גם לתגמל אותה בעבור התנהגות נכונה. זה נכון שטקטיקות ה Naming and Shaming (אפשר לקרוא עליה בהרחבה בספרן של (Margaret. Keck and Kathryn Sikkink) מצליחות לאלץ את ישראל כמדינה לפעול בדרכים מסוימות, (מילת המפתח פה היא לאלץ). ההצלחה האמיתית של השמאל תהייה הטמעת ערכים בקרב מקבלי ההחלטות ולא אילוצם לפעולה.

אני חוזר מסוף שבוע אצל ההורים של בת זוגי לחיים. במהלך הביקור אמה סיפרה לנו על סרט תיעודי שצפתה בו. בסרט מוצגת פנימייה (אם אני לא טועה) של נוער עברייני וסיפורו של מנהל המנסה להחזירם למוטב (וכמובן שהוא גם מצליח). במהלך הסרט הוצגו חצר בית הספר, הכיתות ופינת העישון.

פינת עישון ?

כן, פינת עישון. המנהל הסביר שבכל הנוגע לעישון הוא אפילו לא מנסה לאסור זאת על התלמידים, הוא מאפשר לתלמידים לקיים חופש מסוים במסגרתו הם לוקחים חלק בהתנהגות לא נורמטיבית לכאורה וזה בדיוק מה שהשמאל צריך לפעמים לאפשר לישראלים לעשות.

אני יודע שלבקש להעלים עין מדברים שבד"כ מגיע עליהם מכה זה קשה, אבל לא מדובר על העלמת עין שיטתית מסוג מסוים של התנהגות, אלא, פשוט לגלות לעיתים סלחנות. אני באמת חושב שאם השמאל רוצה להצליח לחזור לשלטון ולגרום למדינה ולאזרחים לבצע פעולות שכיום נראות כלא טבעיות, הוא צריך להפסיק להיות קודם אבא מכה.

שלי יחימוביץ' פרסמה תגובה על גזר הדין של משה קצב באינטרנט. הרעיון של שמירה על קשר ישיר ועצמאי עם הבוחר הוא מעולה, חבל רק שהביצוע נראה כמו נאום של מנהיג טרור. אם שלי הכריזה על עצמה כמועמדת לראשות מפלגה אז כדאי מאוד שהיא תאמץ קצת ממלכתיות כאשר היא פונה אל הקהל באופן יזום ובחייאת שתשקיע עוד מאתיים שקל על מצלמה HD או שתצלם את זה באייפון של חברי הכנסת.

One might be led to think that NATO supports the rebels in Libya, after all France publicly endorsed the rebels, NATO leaders met in order to discuss different options of intervention and Obama said that Gaddafi's regime lost his legitimacy to role.

In such a case all that is left to do is to decide how to act in order to achieve Gaddafi downfall. There are number of ways and plenty of suggestions on how to do just that, but the real question is not how to strengthen the rebels, but if to strengthen the rebels. It seems today that question remains unanswered at least publicly.

Indeed the west flashed its cards too early and there is no turning back on that. There are a lot of interests in favor of keeping Gaddafi's regime and a lot in favor of the rebels. But no matter which interest you will place under the "keep Gaddafi" rubric, it will have to be considered under the new circumstances of the "All Knowing Gaddafi". The new Gaddafi will never be the same Gaddafi that gave out on the pursuit for nuclear weapons and joined forces with the west to fight terrorism, but more like the old Gaddafi.

Aaron Ellis seems to think that the discussion over the "No Fly Zone" is suffering from politician logic as presented in "Yes Minister" sketch (We need to do something, this is something therefore we must do it). But for me the important part of this sketch is the notion that doing anything is worse than doing nothing. It is this notion that made some of us forget the lessons of the Melian Dialogue (contained in Thucydides’ History of the Peloponnesian War), there is no neutrality in IR. Avoiding the actual steps needed in order to topple Gaddafi's regime means to strengthen him.

As evidence to my claim we could turn to James clapper's latest statement; it seems that Gaddafi will prevail in his struggle against the opposition forces.  Clapper is not alone thinking that unless something is done, Gaddafi will come out with the upper hand, Reality is also doing its best to back his claims.

NATO should choose quickly since the window of opportunity is shrinking rapidly. Doing nothing will help Gaddafi and keep NATO countries as opponents to the regime, backing Gaddafi publicly will be seen as hypocrisy and backing the rebels will mean doing something.

I believe that NATO countries already did the math and chose to publicly support the rebels while behind the scenes defending their interests in the Gaddafi's regime. But in case I'm wrong about NATO's choices and there is still a chance for them to come around, I would like to suggest focusing on Gaddafi ability to recruit mercenaries by monitoring Libya's borders and establishing a "No Fly Zone".
