הסרט הבולט בקטגוריה זו או בכלל מכל הסרטים המשתתפים הוא Burma Vj. הסרט צולם בשנת 2007,  ע"י חבורת עיתונאים (DVB – Democratic voice of Burma) אשר התאמנה לצלם בסתר ולהבריח את החומרים אל מחוץ למדינה.

בשנת 2007 בורמה עברה ניסיון הפיכה לא אלים, כאשר אלפי נזירים הצטרפו אל העם בצעדות מחאה כנגד ממשלת הגנרלים. התרבות הבורמזית קשורה מאוד לאמונה הבודהיסטית ולכן הצטרפותם של הנזירים למחאה סימל קריאת תיגר על הממשל.

זו אינה הפעם הראשונה שאנשי בורמה ניסו להתמרד ולמעשה ההפגנות הסטודנטים  של שנת 1988 הולידו הליך בחירות בשנת 1990.  בתום הליך הבחירות קיבלה מנהיגת האופוזיציה Aung San Suu Kyi רוב סוחף וזכתה במעצר בית עד עצם היום הזה.

קשה שלא לרחם על כמות כה גדולה של אנשים אשר נשללת מהם חירותם, אני חושב שהסרט נותן פרספקטיבה טובה לגבי החיים במדינות עולם שלישי (מונח שמיוחס גם לישראל בקלות רבה מדי) ומדינות הנמצאות תחת דיקטטורה צבאית. הפחד שאוחז בכל אזרח מפני המשטרה החשאית והממשל מצמררים. צהלות השימחה ומחיאות הכפים לנזירים הצועדים ברחוב מסמרי שער.

כן…, כמובן שהציוץ נמחק אבל במגזין FP היו מהירים מספיק בשביל לעשות צילום מסך וכך זה נראה.

הכתבה השנייה נוגעת לשאלה שהעלה אחד העורכים במגזין. העורך תהה מדוע הפיכות צבאיות מבוצעות בדרך כלל על-ידי קולונלים (דרגות הביניים) ולא על-ידי גנרלים.

התהליך השני אשר אמור להסתיים בחודש מרץ הוא הגעה להסכמה אודות הסנקציות אשר יוטלו על איראן. ע"פ Josh Rogin ההסכם המתגבש יהיה בעל ניסוח עמום בכדי לאפשר לרוסיה לתמוך בו ומצד שני לאפשר למדינות אחרות לקדם סנקציות כלכליות נוספות כנגד איראן. ג'וש מצביע גם על תיאום אסטרטגי מוגבר בין ישראל לארה"ב.

There are also increased signs of close coordination between the U.S. and Israel on the Iran issue. In addition to the trip this week by Deputy Secretary of State Jim Steinberg and Under Secretary of Defense Michèle Flournoy, there have been a flurry of high-level visits back and forth in recent weeks.

CIA Director Leon Panetta was there at the end of January, National Security Advisor Jim Jones was in Israel in February, Chairman of Joint Chiefs Adm. Mike Mullen and Deputy Secretary of State Jack Lew were there last week, Vice President Joe Biden is expected there March 4. From the Israeli side, Defense Minister Ehud Barak will be in Washington this week and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be in town March 21, and then back again for the nuclear security conference in April.

"You are seeing a very steady, and even stepped-up level, of strategic coordination between the U.S. and Israel at the moment," said one Washington-based Middle East hand. "And given the meaningful shift in tone in public and policy in private that we are seeing from the administration, not to mention the IAEA seeing signs of warhead work in Iran, those talks are sure to be very, very sensitive."

קבוצת פעילי שלום פרצה לפני מספר ימים (בפעם השניה) לבסיס חיל האוויר הבלגי "Kleine-Brogel" וכן ניחשתם נכון, מאוחסנות בו פצצות גרעין ומטוסים לנשאיתן. מעקב אחר הפרסומים על העניין (1,2,3) מייצר את המסלול שעשו במשך 40 דקות עד שעה (תלוי את מי שואלים).

איראן פרסמה השבוע כי היא מתכוונת להעלות את רמת העשרת האורניום שמתבצע בשיטחה לרמה של 20%.

אז מה?

בניגוד למה שמפורסם ע"י  Ynet, תיק דבקה ואחרים העובדה הזאת לא באמת מאיימת באיזו שהיא צורה או מקרבת אותם להשגת נשק גרעיני. על-פי הסטנדרטים הבינלאומים רמת העשרה של 20% היא לשימוש לצרכים אזרחים, לשם בניית נשק גרעיני יש להשיג רמה של לפחות 85% או מעט פחות במידה ומתפשרים מאוד על התוצאה.

ידיעות כאלו הן חסרות ערך, השאלה היא לא האם אנו מקבלים את איראן כמדינה גרעינית אלא האם אנו מקבלים אותה כמדינת סף. ומה הם התנאים שאנו מציבים בפני כל מדינה אשר מבקשת להחזיק בטכנולוגיה גרעינית, זאת מתוך הבנה שמרגע שמדינה מתחילה בפיתוח טכנולוגיית גרעין תמיד תהייה במרחק של שנה עד שמונה מפצצה.

הערכות המודעין של ארה"ב החל מתחילת שנות ה-90 טענו כי איראן נמצאת כשנה עד שמונה שנים מפצצה.

“October 21, 1998: General Anthony Zinni, head of U.S. Central Command, says Iran could have the capacity to deliver nuclear weapons within five years.  ‘If I were a betting man,’ he said, ‘I would say they are on track within five years, they would have the capability.’”

“January 17, 2000: A new CIA assessment on Iran’s nuclear capabilities says that the CIA cannot rule out the possibility that Iran may possess nuclear weapons.  The assessment is based on the CIA’s admission that it cannot monitor Iran’s nuclear activities with any precision and hence cannot exclude the prospect that Iran may have nuclear weapons."1
